    • Members shared reflections from the presentations on March 23, 2021.
    • Members heard presentations from representatives from the National Academy of Sciences Engineering and Medicine, and the Sustainable Energy Systems Integration and Transitions Group (David Suzuki Foundation and University of Victoria). Each presentation was followed by a question and answer period.
    • Members discussed the purpose and scope for the NZAB’s new research and engagement subcommittees, and preliminary considerations to inform their work.

    • Members heard presentations from representatives from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and McKinsey & Company. Each presentation was followed by a question and answer period.
    • Members discussed their reflections and emerging observations from their meetings to date.
    • Members discussed establishing subcommittees to advance the next stage of the NZAB’s research and engagement work planning.

    • The Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada addressed the NZAB and stated her commitment to ensuring that the NZAB work is a success.
    • Members heard a presentation from representatives of the Trottier Energy Institute. The presentation was followed by a question and answer period.
    • Members shared their reflections on the presentations from March 10 and 16, 2021.
    • Members discussed work planning and approaches for future presentations.

    • Members heard presentations from representatives of the Canada Energy Regulator, the Canadian Institute for Climate Choices, and the Transition Accelerator. Each presentation was followed by a question and answer period.
    • Members discussed how to scope their initial 3-month phase of work.

    • Members met for their inaugural meeting, beginning by holding a roundtable and reviewing their Terms of Reference.
    • Members discussed key considerations for their work, including COVID-19, engagement, and communications.
    • Members expressed interest in learning more about existing net-zero pathways analyses by Canadian experts, and international pathways that have relevance to Canada, to inform their initial 3-month summary of domestic and international net-zero pathways.
